CAMPBELL CRIME REPORT
12/13: Petty Theft
Bascom Avenue
An unknown suspect approached the register and purchased some candy. When the cashier opened the cash register the suspect reached into the drawer and stole $100. The suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-21 years, 6’0”, 180 lbs., with brown hair, light eyes and was wearing blue jeans and a flannel or plaid shirt.
12/16: Assault with a deadly weapon
S. Bascom Avenue (Jack in the Box)
A 27-year-old San Jose man was involved in an altercation at Jack in the Box. The victim attempted to calm things down. The suspect began yelling at the victim and pushing her in the chest. The suspect fled prior to police arrival but was located and arrested.
12/16: Drunk in Public
Union Avenue
A white male adult was intoxicated and having trouble finding his front door. He was arrested.
12/18: Armed Robbery
Bascom Avenue (Pruneyard)
The 57-year-old victim withdrew money from Wells Fargo ATM. She was walking to her car when she was confronted by a male suspect. He was described as an Hispanic male in his late 20s, 5’8”, 210 lbs., wearing dark clothing and a beanie cap. The suspect said he had a knife and demanded her money, and he said he would stab her if she refused. The victim handed him the cash and he walked out to Campbell Avenue and headed toward Bascom Avenue. A report was taken.
12/20: Drunk in Public
Campbell Avenue (Gaslighter)
Two white male adults, both 27, were causing a disturbance at the Gaslighter Theatre. They proceeded to walk down the street, pulling down a string of Christmas lights. They were determined to be too intoxicated to care for their safety and were arrested.
12/20: Lottery Scam
Almarida Drive
The victim was called by a person claiming he won $3 million in the Canadian Lottery. The victim was tricked into sending money to various individuals in Canada “to pay for the taxes on his winnings.”
12/21: Vandalism
Water Tower
An unknown suspect climbed the 140 foot tower and spray-painted “Phil (heart ) Julianne’s 2005” on the tank. Central Fire responded with their ladder truck and the damage was removed.
12/22: Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Resisting Arrest
April Way
After an argument with his mother a 29-year-old male brandished a kitchen knife with a 6” blade at his mother and told her he was going to stab her. The victim called the police. Upon contact the suspect refused to put down the knife and he advanced towards officers. A taser was successfully deployed and the suspect was taken into custody. The mother said the suspect had a mental illness and had stopped taking his medication. The suspect was arrested.
12/23: Battery
Hamilton Avenue (Fry’s)
During an argument over loading a TV the 18-year-old suspect, a Fry’s employee, punched the victim, a customer, in the mouth. The victim requested prosecution. The suspect was arrested.
12/23: Vandalism
Fulton
A victim called the police department because his neighbor was playing his music too loud. This is a chronic problem. Tonight the suspect got angry after Campbell Police Department contacted him about the loud music and he threw a rock at the victim’s window causing it to break. The suspect was cited.
12/24: Drunk in Public
Adler Drive at Nido Drive
A 31-year-old suspect was punching a parked car and upon contact with police it was determined that he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested.
12/26: Vandalism
Nido Drive
A 25-year-old male suspect and a 31-year-old male suspect were walking down Nido Drive kicking the mirrors off vehicles. Four vehicles were damaged. The suspects were located on Echo Drive and arrested.
12/26: Assault
Michael Drive
The female suspect came over to her former boyfriend’s house to pick up her son and a verbal argument turned into her kicking the man’s new girlfriend’s car, pushing slapping and narrowly missing her when she threw a rock. A report was taken.
12/28: Grand Theft
Hamilton Avenue (Mervyn’s)
A 40-year-old female employee of Mervyn’s had been taking cash and merchandise from the store over a period of 10 days. She was arrested.
12/28: Illegal Lodging
Westmont Avenue
A 32-year-old male and a 28-year-old female were seen by a neighbor entering a property that is under construction by crawling through an opening in the chain-linked fence. They had no lawful business on the property when questioned by the police. They were arrested.
1/1: Brandishing a Weapon, Assault
Budd Avenue
The victim reported that her 42-year-old girlfriend punched her in the chest during a domestic argument. She also brandished a box cutter at the victim. The suspect was arrested and an emergency protective order was issued.
