Teachers awarded grants from the Campbell Education Foundation
The Campbell Education Foundation will award Campbell teachers more than $10,000 in grants at the Campbell Union School District Office at 155 North Third Street, Campbell, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 1. Foundation president Ester Kwok will present each teacher a check at the meeting and thank them for their continued public service in our community.
Grants are given each year to local teachers in Campbell Elementary Schools which include: Blackford, Campbell, Capri, Castlemont, Forest Hill, Lynhaven, Marshall Lane, Monroe, Rolling Hills, Rosemary, Sherman Oaks and Village School.
The Campbell Education Foundation has an application process in which grants are awarded annually. Funds raised by the foundation help ensure that teachers are given the resources necessary to teach in our schools.

Campbell Library expands downloadable-recorded book collection
More than two dozen books – ranging from “Family First” by Dr. Phil to bestselling novels by Stephen King, Janet Evanovich, and Stuart Woods — have been added to the collection of hundreds of downloadable recorded books available to patrons of the Campbell Library. The books can be played on personal computers or MP3
players.
“People enjoying listening to audio books while they commute, work out at the gym, do chores and just relaxing,” said Terri Lehan, community librarian. “Being able to download them at a time and place that is convenient maximizes their value to our patrons.”

Geriatric Advisory Program announces two new groups:
Caregiver Discussion Group and Women and Aging Discussion Group
Vivian I. Silva, Gerontologist, is offering two new groups at the Almaden Valley Counseling Service. The discussion groups are presented in a four-week series. Both start Monday, Feb. 13. The Caregiver Discussion Group meets from noon to 1 p.m. and includes resources, support and interaction with others caring for an older adult. The Women and Aging Discussion Group meets from 1:30–2:30 p.m. and topics delve into what women should know about aging—with time to talk about everything you want and need to talk about!
