Dr. T. Berry Brazelton to receive Children’s Discovery
Museum’s Legacy for Children Award on March 8

Children’s Discovery Museum has named Dr. T. Berry Brazelton its 2007 recipient of the Legacy for Children Award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding individual or organization whose efforts have considerably benefited the learning and lives of children. Dr. T. Berry Brazelton will join this elite group of recipients and will accept the award on March 8 at the Fairmont Hotel.

Dr. Brazelton, known as “America’s Pediatrician,” is one of the leading figures in the field of pediatrics and child development. He is often recognized for his television show, “What Every Baby Knows,” which ran for 12 years and won two Emmy awards. Dr. Brazelton has also published over 40 books, including seven titles in the nationally bestselling “Brazelton Way” series, which educates parents on child development topics such as Sleep, Discipline and Understanding Sibling Rivalry, and the Touchpoints Series including Touchpoints 3-6 and Touchpoints 0-3, which has reached nearly one million families.

Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose’s Legacy for Children Award was inaugurated in 1999 and the first award was presented to Fred Rogers of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” Other winners have included actor, director, and children’s advocate, Rob Reiner; “Sesame Street” puppeteer, Carroll Spinney; cartoonist Bill Keane; co- Founder of Klutz press, John Cassidy; and author and illustrator, Dr. Seuss.
