The San Jose State University School of Music and Dance presents a concert by the Premiere Saxophone Quartet at 7:30 p.m. in the Music and Dance Concert Hall. A Champagne reception will follow the performance. Tickets are $10 fro adults, $for seniors and $5 for students.
April 3 – Sunday
The San Jose Wind Symphony presents “How Suite It Is!” at the Campbell Heritage Theatre in downtown Campbell at 3 p.m. Tickets are $17 general admission and $15 for seniors. Call 927-SJWS for more information.

The San Jose Symphonic Choir will be celebrating its 80th year by presenting William Walton’s “Belshazzar’s Feast” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Five Mystical Songs” featuring Nathan Gunn, Baritone, and Menlo School Select Chorus and accompanied by Mission Chamber Orchestra. The performance begins at 8 p.m. at the California theatre, 345 South first Street in San Jose. Tickets are $30 and $22. All seats reserved. Join Vidhya Subramanian and Lasya Dance Company’s upcoming “Living Sculptures” performance as the group explores the mutuality between Indian sculpture and dance. Through the ages, dancers have given form to the sculptor’s imagination and sculpture has inspired dancers to achieve excellence. Living Sculptures will traverse India - paying homage to the Sun God at Konarak and the resplendent Nataraja at the Chidambaram temple, giving life to the inert Belur- Shilabalikas and Ajanta/Ellora nymphs and paving the way to Divine Love through the eroticism embodied in the immortal Khajuraho heroine. West Valley light Opera Association will open its second production of its 40th Season, “Smokey Joe’s Café” at the Saratoga Civic Theater, 13777 Fruitvale in Saratoga at 8 p.m. on March 12 with a Champagne Gala and continue performances on weekends through April 9. American Musical Theater San Jose presents “Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance” tour—the international sensation that has broken box office records in more than 30 countries—is returning to theaters across the United States. The Zarathushtrian Assembly meets on the last Thursday of each month at the Campbell Community Center, One West Campbell Avenue in Campbell. The Billy De Frank Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center, 938 The Alameda in San Jose, hosts a weekly “Coming Out Group,” which offers a safe space to explore different subjects. Topics include how to come out to yourself, and how to comfortably live and work as a gay or lesbian in the larger community. All groups are run by trained facilitators in a closed door meeting room. Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose presents “Aida” at the Montgomery Theater. Aida is an exciting late-breaking addition to the CMT season and the company is proud to be the first non-Equity group in the country to perform this hot new Broadway blockbuster, with a pop-rock score by Elton John and Tim Rice, who won four Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, and a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album. Set in Ancient Egypt, Aida is the tale of undying love between an enslaved African princess and her captor, an Egyptian army captain named Radames. Westmont High School’s Award-winning Varsity and Jr. Varsity Cheer Teams will hold a Cheer Clinic from 9:30 a.m. noon for Jr. High and Elementary Students. Girls and boys are invited to join the fun, learn to cheer, chant and dance to music. The Cheer Clinic will feature the students performing cheer routines for their family and friends at noon on the day of the Clinic. The Cheer Clinic will be held in the Westmont High School Basketball Gym. The fee will be $35.00 per child. A family discount of $5 per student is offered for families with one or more students attending the Cheer Clinic. Join the Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens for a bus tour to the 2005 San Francisco Flower and Garden Show. Their chartered bus will leave the Guadalupe Garden Center in San Jose at 8:30 a.m. and return by 5 p.m. The price of the trip is $50 for members and $55 for non-members, which includes the $16 admission price to the show, transportation and parking. The price does not include lunch, but there is food available at the show, or you may bring your own “brown bag”. The Junior League of San Jose—a non-profit organization of more than 800 women volunteers— has sponsored a rummage sale every other year since 1969. Proceeds from the Sale help to train JLSJ’s women volunteers and support their community services.
