Blendz recognized by California as outstanding business

Blendz Franchise System, Inc. and its Founder and CEO Matt Phipps were recognized by Mike Honda, U.S. Representative, the state of California, Santa Clara County and the city of Campbell as an outstanding California business.

The entire Blendz Team was on hand to participate in the dinner and reception honoring Blendz for its Business of the Year 2007 Award and their recent franchise growth and involvement in the local community.

“This is a great honor and achievement for Blendz,” said Phipps. “It has taken great people to build this business and we’re all excited by the growth and ability to give back to our community.”

Phipps opened the first Blendz in Campbell in early July 2003. The public welcomed the restaurant, which features a healthy alternative to typical fast food fare. In the next two years four more Blendz locations opened in Silicon Valley including the first of its kind inside a flagship BMW auto dealership. Blendz currently has locations open in Arizona and California, with additional units under development in California, Washington and Nevada.

Blendz is a quick-service restaurant that features tossed-to-order salads, grilled panini sandwiches, blended smoothies, gourmet hot soups and at some locations, coffee and espresso drinks. Unlike traditional fast-food restaurants whose menu is based on fried food or stale environments, Blendz combines a healthier faire with the speed and convenience that customers demand.
