From the Mayor’s Desk

Invite to city budget forums and First Friday

By Mayor Donald R. Burr
Special to the Times

As I reported in last month’s column, the city is currently conducting public forums on the city’s budget challenges to receive input from residents on their priorities in terms of programs and services, and to develop a plan that works for Campbell. The council will later review its options, including possible reductions of programs and services to address the budget shortfalls.

I invite you to attend one of these remaining public forums to learn more about the city’s budget and to provide your input on the programs and level of services that you want maintained in Campbell.

Meetings will be held Tuesday, June 10, 10 a.m. at the Adult Center, Room C35, Campbell Community Center and Monday, June 23, 7 p.m. at City Council Chambers, Campbell City Hall, 70 N. First Street, Campbell.

Information is also available on the city’s website at www.cityofcampbell.com as well as on the Campbell Government Channel 26 [cable TV]. If you have any questions about the forums, please contact the City Manager’s Office at (408) 866-2125.

If you have not yet had the chance to attend any of the Downtown Campbell’s First Friday events, you’ll have another opportunity this Friday, June 6. The Downtown Campbell Business Association presents First Friday every month and this Friday’s theme event will feature sounds of the 70s. As always, there will be live entertainment and performances on East Campbell Avenue. Everyone is welcome. For more information regarding First Fridays, visit www.DowntownCampbell.com.
