Get ready to celebrate everything Scottish!
Campbell Highland Games coming June 17
The annual Campbell Highland Games, a celebration of everything Scottish, will be held Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Campbell Community Center.
Events include the Stone Put championship, caber toss (think telephone poles!), ceilidh dancing, bagpipe bands, historic reenactments by the Highland Warriors and Celtic foods and crafts.
Tickets are$10/adults and$8 for seniors and children or $30/family in advance and $15/adults, $10 for seniors and children and $30/family at the gate. Campbell’s Adam Crownover graduates from Army basic training
Army Pfc. Adam J. Crownover has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus,
Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid and Army history, core values
and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Crownover, a 2003 graduate of Valley Christian High School, is the son of Alan and Maureen Crownover of Campbell.
