Diverse Salon owner and hair designers Hareg Kassa and Maria Repetto recently returned from J Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive where they attended an advanced haircutting and styling academy. J Beverly Hills President Juan Juan established himself as a celebrity stylist to the who’s who in Hollywood that he shared with attendees.
“As a hair designer, you can never ‘know too much,’” said Kassa who is also celebrating the one year anniversary of Diverse Salon this month. “It is our job to keep up with the industry’s latest in color, cut and style. In order to do this, we accepted a rare opportunity to attend the Juan Juan Academy in Beverly Hills where we were taught by the famed hair artist who has worked on so many movie stars and well known individuals.”
At the J Beverly Hills Academy, Kassa and Repetto learned long soft layered cuts with movement and graceful style. They also learned shorter high fashion and edgy cuts with texture and dimension, as well as other advanced haircutting and styling techniques. But high fashion looks, color, and style are not the only deluxe services available at Diverse Salon. They also offer nail care, facials, and waxing. A large selection of 100 percent human hair extensions has clients returning for longer or fuller tress transformations. They even offer a hair repair service if that “do it yourself” home treatment didn’t work out so well.

Diverse Salon is an exclusive retailer of the J Beverly Hills product line and treatments, along with hair care and styling supplies from Chi, Bed Head, Mixed Chicks, Biolage, Nioxin, Kera Care, Crew and others. They also supply eyelashes and showcase Ethiopian jewelry. New monthly specials like a color and cut special for $99 have new and old clients clamoring for glamorous looks.
“I enjoy making people happy and sending them home with a new look [and] a smile on their face,” said Kassa, who co-owns Diverse Salon with husband Haile. Kassa admits that she always loved hair design and worked in a salon for many years. Last year, her dream came true and the couple opened Diverse Salon.
Equally impressive is the array of stylists, braiders, nail technician and esthetician that the Kassa’s employ. A congenial group, they all agree they treat their clients like royalty as they receive the Hollywood treatment.
“I love exploring my creativity with all different types of hair,” said Diverse Salon hair designer Maria Repetto who lives in Campbell. “My specialty is high fashion, multi-dimensional color and style. I have fun at the salon and love working with different people on a daily basis.”
