Joshua Chapman graduates from basic Air Force military training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Joshua K. Chapman has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Chapman is the son of Catherine Ott of Campbell.
Our City Forest announces fall 2006 Tree Amigo Class
Our City Forest has announced free Tree Amigo volunteer classes beginning in the end of August. Students will learn tree planting techniques, species identification, basic tree care and how to help organize a community planting. There will be a tree nursery tour, a walking tree tour and a tree planting project during the 18 hour
class.
The meeting location will be the classroom location at the Our City Forest Office at 595 Park Ave. Suite 100, on the NE corner of Park Ave. And Montgomery (Bird) just off Hwy 280 (Bird exit). There will be field training as well, contact OCF for more details.
