Who do you think is behind Hezbollah’s recent rocket attacks on Israel? What do you think should be done to resolve the current situation?

(Asked at Kirkwood Plaza)

“I don’t know. I don’t have a particular opinion about it. I think a compromise or a cease fire.”

“I would guess Iran. It’s hard to tell, my husband and I were discussing Iraq the other night and we thought the best thing to do is divide it in three: One part to the Kurds, one to the Sunnis and one to the Shites. I don’t have an answer about what will solve the problem. At one time, Israel took the land; I don’t think it wants the land now. I think it wants Lebanon to control the terrorists and I think Israel would be satisfied if all these groups would leave it alone. I think that Israel doesn’t want terrorists next door and that the fighting would stop if the terrorists were gone.”

“I don’t know. I really don’t know what to say about the whole issue. There’s always a way to make peace, but I don’t know of a good way to stop the conflict. War, fighting, killing people is never the answer. War, poverty, power, politics and money, that’s why people—especially little kids—are dying on both sides.”

“Iran. We’ve been trying compromise forever. I wish I knew the answer, but I just don’t know. It’s religious and religious wars go on for many centuries. What both sides are doing isn’t right. They are hurting civilians, and it just isn’t right. It’s okay to fight a war, but leave the civilians out of it.”

“I really don’t know who is behind them. Hamas took a chance they shouldn’t have. It’s just so confusing with everything else going on in the world. If the United Nations could get it all together and put together a cease fire where the two sides can talk, that would be helpful."

“I have no idea, I have to have a lot more information. There is a lot going on under the surface that not everyone knows.”

"These hostilities are ancient, they’ve been going on since the beginning of time. I have no clue who is funding Hamas and Hezbollah. I don’t know how to find a solution. There are so many options that are bad and won’t work, and the conflict will still go on forever until we’re all gone.”

“It’s not us, thank goodness. I don’t know what to think though, I haven’t been listening to the news, we’ve been on vacation and family is coming. I don’t think there’s any good solution, no easy answer, to solving the hostilities."
