Summer’s almost gone, but Chamber stays busy
By Betty Deal
Well, it’s hard to believe our summer is almost gone. The Chamber continues to stay busy with events and welcoming new members. We have started to receive volunteer sign-ups for Oktoberfest and plans for the event are in full swing. If you or your groups are interested in volunteering, early sign-ups will help insure your favorite places to work.
9/21/05 Wednesday: Monthly Luncheon, Hometown Buffett, 3085 Meridian Ave. The closest cross street is Foxworthy. Several different things have been planned for this luncheon that you will NOT want to miss. The jackpot has grown to $650; another reason you will want to be there! RSVP by return email or by calling the Chamber office.
9/22/05 Thursday” Blendz will be having their Second Anniversary Celebration by offering a FREE lunch to all who join them from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. This is their way of thanking the community for two great years of success and growing strong! Lunch will include their popular grilled panini, fresh tossed salad and a smoothie. There will be live entertainment, raffles and as usual, lots of FUN! Blendz is located in the heart of Downtown Campbell on the corner of First and Campbell Avenue.
9/22/05 Thursday: Ribbon Cutting & Open House - Teen & Family Counseling Center - 307 Orchard City Drive - 5:30-7 p.m. This organization has been serving the Bay Area teens and families since 1983. We’re thrilled they have decided to locate in Campbell. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.
9/27/05 Tuesday: An invitation has been extended to all Chamber members to attend a meeting on “The Foreign Trade Zone-Your Gateway to Global Opportunities.” This is free of charge and will be held at the San Jose City Hall-200 E. Santa Clara St., room W118 & W119 (Council Wing) from 8:30-11:00 a.m. Validated parking is available at the City Hall Garage at Sixth Street. Learn how the Foreign Trade Zone Program can reduce a company’s overall costs, the logistics of zone operations and how businesses can apple for subzone status for their individual sites.
