Rolling Hills reaches out

The Rolling Hills Middle School student council, led by teacher Heidi Brenner, recently decided to put on a series of fund raisers for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The first fund raiser was held September 9th at break with a little help from several parent volunteers. The students sold a bagel and juice for a $2 (or plus) donation to the victims. Over $700 was raised for the cause and this is just the first of several fund raisers that will be held throughout the month of September.

Car dealership Stevens Creek Honda has offered to match funds raised Sept. 9 and on Sept. 16 to sweeten the pot.

“I was amazed and filled with gratitude that so many kids were so enthusiastic and generous with the donation efforts,” said Heidi Brenner. “I’m very proud of my students and their parents.”
