Go “Vintage” this Halloween!

Creepy Crawly or simply devine, great Halloween costumes are so much more fun when they are made from vintage clothes. A couple of the best stores in the valley to offering vintage duds are 23 skiddoo right here in downtown Campbell and Moon Zoom on San Carlos Street.

According to their Web site, 23 skidoo carries a large selection of men's and women's vintage clothing from the 1940's through the 1970's.This includes dresses, sweaters, and suits for both ladies and gentlemen, shoes, purses and other accessories. The store also features some new, reproduction items as well, including creepers, pin-up girl purses, jewelry (featuring Elvis and Bettie Page images), sunglasses and wigs as well as something called Manic Panic hair dye –and every girl’s Halloween must have: eyelashes. The store is also known for having one of the largest selections of tights, including fishnets in several colors, as well as backseamed stockings, patterned tights, solid colors and stripes. They also offer rentals.

23 skidoo is open seven days a week, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.and Tuesday through Saturday from 11a.m. to 7 p.m.

This jam-packed unassuming storefront located in the center of Burbank's antique district on San Carlos Street is a real find for those seeking the most expressive Halloween costume—or a costume for a play. Moon Zoom is open seven days a week.
