Letter from the Editor

They say the only constant is change. And that’s true at the Campbell Times.

I am pleased to be the new editor of the Campbell Times. I have worked for the Times Community Newspapers for four years. During that time we have all seen the challenges undergoing the daily print media. Some say it’s the Internet, others the 24-hour news channels.

Whatever the reason for the decrease in major newspapers subscriptions, I believe a community press is needed for our many neighborhoods that are like small cities within themselves. I want the Campbell Times to be where you read about the news that affects you, your family, your neighborhood and your city. I want to share your successes and mourn your losses. I want the paper to represent the people who live in Campbell, and I will need your help.

Let me know about events you want covered, the issues you are concerned with. Write a Letter to the Editor to express your view point on pertinent subjects. Please feel free to contact me at lewis@timesmediainc.com or (408) 494-7000. I am here to help.

I always held a deep affection for Campbell. I attended Monroe and Del Mar High Schools. I lived in the area for over a dozen years. I remember when the grand Ainsley House sat at the corner of Hamilton and Bascom Avenues and even took a joyride on the hidden curvy driveway. I was saddened when the Bodega and Silver Buckle closed but ecstatic at what the historic downtown district has become. Campbell should be proud.

I’m thrilled to be editing the Campbell Times. I hope to continue to bring you an interesting, entertaining and informative paper that you can’t wait to read.
