Derek Fujikawa heads Campbell San Jose West Rotary Club

Derek Fujikawa, a certified public accountant and partner in Fujikawa & Associate CPA with offices on Winchester Boulevard, San Jose, is the new 2006-07 president of the Campbell, San Jose West Rotary Club. He has been a Rotarian for the past nine years.

The club meets every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. for a luncheon program at the Eastfield-Ming Quong's Campbell Campus on Llewellyn Avenue. The club’s members are drawn from all segments of the business community and are active in a number of community service activities both locally and through its district and international organizations.

Fujikawa is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with degree in business economics. A native of Stockton, he graduated from Leland High School, San Jose and currently lives with his wife and son in Willow Glen. He shares his accountancy practice with his father, Stan Fujikawa, who founded the firm more than 25 years ago.

New club officers and directors for the current term are President-elect Judy Armstrong, broadcasting; Secretary John Shannon, education; and Treasurer Phil Nielsen, attorney.

Other members of the Board of Directors include Dr. Gary Arita, Club Service; Cecilia Babkirk, Community Service; Ravi Chari, International Service; Jim Burgard, Youth Service; Dr. Sue Klear, Vocational Service; and David Keller, Membership Service.
