Residential Burglaries

The San Jose Police Department is investigating a series of nighttime burglaries that are occurring in the western and southwestern areas of San Jose.

The first area is bounded by Williams Road, Lawrence Expressway, Quito Road, Campbell Avenue and Winchester Boulevard. The second area is bounded by Dry Creek Road, Bascom Avenue, Camden Avenue, Hillsdale Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue.

These burglaries have taken place over the past six months. The unidentified suspects are most often entering through unlocked or open doors and windows during the nighttime hours and stealing items such as wallets, purses, cash and other personal items while residents sleep. No physical confrontations have occurred between the suspects or the victims. Suspect descriptions have varied.

Residents are advised to keep their doors and windows locked and to be aware of any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. If unusual or suspicious activity is observed, call 9-1-1 immediately and report the behavior.

Anyone with information on this series is asked to contact the San Jose Police Department’s Burglary Unit at 277-4401. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may do so by calling Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP.
