Historical Museum celebrates Campbell’s history with
a spectacular photo collection

“Campbell,” a new release from Arcadia Publishing’s celebrated Images of America series, relates the story of a city’s beginning and examines the changes that have taken place throughout its history. The charming city of Campbell sits amid bustling urban neighbors in Silicon Valley. For many years known as the “Orchard City,” Campbell is still very much a small town clinging fiercely to its identity.

Highlights in the book include:

- Over 200 vintage photographs

- The story of Benjamin Campbell’s arrival in California in 1846 which led to the development of the city of Campbell

- A unique glimpse of the emergence of California’s fruit orchards and the early marketing efforts of the California fruit growers

- An extensive look at the people of the area, from the Ohlone Indians to modern-day Silicon Valley

Picking the finest fruits of the large photographic collection at the Campbell Historical Museum, curator Karen Brey and director Gloria Chun Hoo have created a fascinating pictorial journey through Campbell’s past. A portion of the proceeds from the book will support the educational programs and exhibitions of the Campbell Historical Museum and the Ainsley House.

Available at local bookstores and on-line through Arcadia Publishing at www.arcadiapublishing.com.
