World’s largest turkey flees feather-plucking kindergarteners
A gaggle of 5-year-old kindergarteners chased their 300-pound principal—disguised as the world’s largest turkey—the day before Thanksgiving vacation.

| Forty-four Campbell Christian School kindergartners plucked the tail feathers off of their turkey costumed principal, Dr. Shawn Stuart. |
At 6 feet 4 inches, Campbell Christian Schools’ Principal Dr. Shawn Stuart fled from 44 3-foot, feather-plucking kindergarteners dressed as pilgrims and Native American Indians on Wednesday.
All of Campbell Christian School’s 220 elementary school students, many of their parents and all teachers and staff surrounded the grassy hill across from the school’s offices where the kindergarteners made game of their fine-feathered friend.
Dressed in a clip-on feather-covered turkey jumpsuit, Stuart is the first to kick off the school’s Thanksgiving festivities. Formerly an All-American football player for the UCLA Bruins, Stuart greatly prefers being tackled by his two kindergarten classes.
“This is the funniest tradition we enjoy at Campbell Christian,” says Stuart. “It’s my seventh year as the world’s largest turkey, and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. A good sense of humor and a positive attitude – these are things to model and be thankful for.”
The rest of the day’s celebration included a feast in every classroom and holiday crafts followed by sack races and a tug of war.
